After careful handpicking, ripe cherries are washed and processed in the traditional lavado (washed) style, highlighting the bean’s natural clarity while preserving its bold, nut and chcolate undertones.

Grown in the Escambray Mountains of central Cuba, south of Santa Clara, this coffee comes from the region of El Nicho — a place locals call the Crystal Mountains for their mica- and quartz-rich soils. The area’s rolling hills and humid, mild climate create ideal conditions for cultivating high-quality Arabica coffee.

Farms sit between 600 and 800 metres above sea level and are shaded by leguminous native trees such as Ingas, Erythrinas, and Leucaenas, which help maintain soil fertility and protect the plants from harsh sun. Farmers here combine generations of knowledge with modern training, focusing on sustainability and the careful use of natural agro-techniques to keep their crops healthy and resilient.
