Our journey began in the 1980s with founder Stewart Falconer, a man driven not by trends, but by taste. While travelling abroad, Stewart encountered coffee of a quality he’d never known: complex, expressive, and full of character. Inspired by this revelation, he returned home with a singular mission: to reimagine the way people experience their daily cup.
Long before the term “artisan” entered the mainstream, Stewart was hand-roasting coffee in small batches, guided by a quiet determination and a profound respect for the craft. His approach was rooted in curiosity and care, with an unwavering focus on flavour, quality, and connection.
From the very beginning, this venture was never just about coffee, it was about culture. One that values relationships over transactions, craft over convenience, and flavour over fleeting fads. That philosophy remains at the core of everything we do today.
At our roastery, we continue to roast in small, precise batches, working closely with producers who share our values: sustainability, transparency, and integrity. Each coffee we select is thoughtfully sourced, with a story that stretches from origin to cup, and it’s our responsibility to honour that journey with the same care and creativity that inspired Stewart decades ago.

Based in Nottingham, we take pride in our local roots while serving customers across the UK, from curious home brewers to established hospitality partners. Each connection is personal, and each cup is the result of meticulous attention to detail.
