Tasting notes

Full‑bodied and comforting, with notes of raisin, chocolate, and peanut. Nutty sweetness up front, finished with a gentle fruity lift.

Origin

Escape Espresso is a 60/40 blend that brings together the high-grown sweetness of Colombian Inzá and the smooth, dependable body of Brazil Cerrado Mineiro.
From the mountains of Inzá in southwest Colombia, smallholder farmers grow coffee between 1,700 and 2,000 metres above sea level. The cool climate and volcanic soil create coffees with sparkling acidity and rich fruit tones — the perfect base for a lively, flavourful espresso.
Balancing it is the Cerrado Mineiro region of Minas Gerais, Brazil — a landscape of red earth, steady weather, and generations of coffee-growing expertise. The beans from this area bring chocolate, nut, and caramel tones that ground the blend and make it beautifully smooth.
The result is a cup that feels both familiar and fresh — rich enough to hold up in milk, yet layered enough to shine on its own.

Variety

Catura, Nova

Process

Methods: Washed (Colombia) / Natural & Pulped Natural (Brazil)
The washed Colombian coffee keeps things clean and bright, showing off raisin-like sweetness and a hint of citrus.
The Brazilian component, processed using natural and pulped natural methods, adds creamy body and a rounded chocolate finish.
Together, they create a classic espresso profile — deep, nutty, and satisfyingly sweet — the perfect blend for slow mornings or easy afternoons.

The coffee is off beautiful quality, all full, whole beans, brilliantly roasted. They taste great as espresso, sublime as flat white or iced latte. Lovely.

After being recommend to try Stewarts coffee roast, I bought the Raisin, Chocolate, Peanut espresso beans. I had regular updates from them while my beans were being roasted, packed and dispatched, with tracking available and the whole ordering process was so easy (just like it should be). On to the beans... Lightly roasted (light brown), not dark and shiny like a lot of dark-roasted beans I've tried before... and the smell when I opened the bag was incredible! Definitely the best-smelling coffee I've had. Taste-wise, I tried my usual 2-shot Americano and was very pleased with the smooth, robust taste. You can actually taste the notes described... but I wasn't "blown away" (although it was definitely up there with the best). Then I tried a quad-espresso. Espresso is what these beans are roasted for. A literal taste explosion, not bitter at all, but a delicious, nutty flavour with an overtone of peanut and chocolate and a back note of raisins. A beautiful hit of coffee on the palate. You've got yourself a subscriber.
