Tasting notes

Praline | Caramel | Cocoa
Rich, chocolatey, and delightfully smooth. Look for flavours of praline, caramel, and cocoa, with a comforting sweetness that lingers. The Ugandan beans bring a bold cocoa backbone, while the Brazilian coffee adds soft nutty notes and biscuit-like sweetness — a balanced cup with depth and warmth.

Origin

Green Roof Espresso is a 50/50 blend that brings together two classic origins — Uganda Rwenzori (African Moon)and Brazil Cerrado Mineiro.
From the Rwenzori Mountains in western Uganda, farmers grow coffee on lush green slopes in the shadow of Africa’s third-highest peak. Known as the Mountains of the Moon, this region’s rich soils and natural processing traditions give the coffee its signature chocolate and brown sugar notes.
The Brazilian side of the blend comes from the Cerrado Mineiro region, Brazil’s first officially recognised coffee-growing origin. Here, consistent weather, red earth, and generations of experience produce beans that are smooth, sweet, and beautifully balanced. Together, these coffees form a blend that’s creamy, nutty, and satisfying — a true all-rounder for espresso.

Process

Methods: Natural (Uganda) / Semi-Washed (Brazil)
The Ugandan coffee is naturally processed, sun-dried on raised beds to build fruit sweetness and body. The Brazilian beans are semi-washed, also known as pulped natural, giving them their caramelised, nutty tone. Blended, they create an espresso that’s rich and rounded — full of character yet endlessly drinkable.

The coffee is off beautiful quality, all full, whole beans, brilliantly roasted. They taste great as espresso, sublime as flat white or iced latte. Lovely.

After being recommend to try Stewarts coffee roast, I bought the Raisin, Chocolate, Peanut espresso beans. I had regular updates from them while my beans were being roasted, packed and dispatched, with tracking available and the whole ordering process was so easy (just like it should be). On to the beans... Lightly roasted (light brown), not dark and shiny like a lot of dark-roasted beans I've tried before... and the smell when I opened the bag was incredible! Definitely the best-smelling coffee I've had. Taste-wise, I tried my usual 2-shot Americano and was very pleased with the smooth, robust taste. You can actually taste the notes described... but I wasn't "blown away" (although it was definitely up there with the best). Then I tried a quad-espresso. Espresso is what these beans are roasted for. A literal taste explosion, not bitter at all, but a delicious, nutty flavour with an overtone of peanut and chocolate and a back note of raisins. A beautiful hit of coffee on the palate. You've got yourself a subscriber.
