Home Brew Coffee Course

On this tailored home brew coffee course, we'll impart our years of industry wisdom to assist you in making great coffee at home. After a quick dive into the origins of coffee we'll get right down to business. First we'll develop your understanding of your coffee bag. We'll delve into the details of bean harvesting, processing, type and roasting style. We will work with you to assess the impact of these variables on the flavours and aromas of your final cup. Our experts will outline what equipment you'll need and the importance of each component. The course examines the benefits of each brewing style and troubleshoots any problems you might encounter along the way.

We'll cover a range of popular home brewing techniques, including pressure brewing processes, pour over methods such as V60's, and immersion techniques such as the French Press.

The content is a perfect balance between theory and practice, and is great for all skill levels. Our sessions are conducted in small groups, allowing plenty of time for practical application of skills; it also allows us to tailor the content to the needs of the group.

You'll also receive a complimentary 250g bag of Stewarts coffee and exclusive discounts for use on our website! Be prepared to come away suitably caffeinated and with a new found outlook on home brewing!

Our Saturday barista sessions begin at 10am, and last approximately two hours.

We kindly ask you to arrive 15 minutes before the session begins to get settled in. Our Home Brew workshops are conducted in small groups and held in our Sneinton Market Old Roastery, in Nottingham city centre.

Our programme of workshops run over a four-week cycle, with limited spaces available per session book now to avoid disappointment.

The coffee is off beautiful quality, all full, whole beans, brilliantly roasted. They taste great as espresso, sublime as flat white or iced latte. Lovely.

After being recommend to try Stewarts coffee roast, I bought the Raisin, Chocolate, Peanut espresso beans. I had regular updates from them while my beans were being roasted, packed and dispatched, with tracking available and the whole ordering process was so easy (just like it should be). On to the beans... Lightly roasted (light brown), not dark and shiny like a lot of dark-roasted beans I've tried before... and the smell when I opened the bag was incredible! Definitely the best-smelling coffee I've had. Taste-wise, I tried my usual 2-shot Americano and was very pleased with the smooth, robust taste. You can actually taste the notes described... but I wasn't "blown away" (although it was definitely up there with the best). Then I tried a quad-espresso. Espresso is what these beans are roasted for. A literal taste explosion, not bitter at all, but a delicious, nutty flavour with an overtone of peanut and chocolate and a back note of raisins. A beautiful hit of coffee on the palate. You've got yourself a subscriber.
