Tasting notes

Smooth and balanced, with notes of almond and brown sugar. Gentle sweetness, rounded body, and a soft citrus lift.

Origin

Sunset Espresso brings together two Latin American origins that complement each other beautifully: Brazil Cerrado Mineiro and Honduras Gea.
From the high plateaus of Cerrado Mineiro, in Brazil’s Minas Gerais state, come coffees known for their dependable sweetness and smooth, nutty profile. Grown between 1,000 and 1,300 metres, these beans offer the rich base that every great espresso needs.
Balancing that is the Gea project in Honduras, a collective of over 300 women farmers growing coffee across the regions of Lempira and Ocotepeque. Their washed coffees bring caramel depth and a touch of bright, fruity complexity to the blend. Together, they create a profile that’s classic and comforting — just the thing for your daily espresso ritual.

Process

Methods: Natural / Pulped Natural (Brazil) & Washed (Honduras)
The Brazilian coffees are naturally and pulped naturally processed, creating that rich body and smooth sweetness, while the Honduran lots are fully washed, highlighting clean caramel tones and subtle citrus.
When combined, these coffees form a sweet, rounded espresso with just the right lift — smooth, balanced, and quietly bold, like the last light of the day.

The coffee is off beautiful quality, all full, whole beans, brilliantly roasted. They taste great as espresso, sublime as flat white or iced latte. Lovely.

After being recommend to try Stewarts coffee roast, I bought the Raisin, Chocolate, Peanut espresso beans. I had regular updates from them while my beans were being roasted, packed and dispatched, with tracking available and the whole ordering process was so easy (just like it should be). On to the beans... Lightly roasted (light brown), not dark and shiny like a lot of dark-roasted beans I've tried before... and the smell when I opened the bag was incredible! Definitely the best-smelling coffee I've had. Taste-wise, I tried my usual 2-shot Americano and was very pleased with the smooth, robust taste. You can actually taste the notes described... but I wasn't "blown away" (although it was definitely up there with the best). Then I tried a quad-espresso. Espresso is what these beans are roasted for. A literal taste explosion, not bitter at all, but a delicious, nutty flavour with an overtone of peanut and chocolate and a back note of raisins. A beautiful hit of coffee on the palate. You've got yourself a subscriber.
